Custom home building

Custom homes in Southern Maine.

A custom home begins with the property, the design, and the way you want to live. Russ Doucette builds new residences throughout Southern Maine, with a specialty in coastal and waterfront homes.

Our work includes wooded Cape Elizabeth estates, homes overlooking the water, and traditional and contemporary residences. The setting shapes the work; it does not limit it to one architectural style.

01

Start with the site and the plans.

You can get in touch while looking for property, developing a design, or preparing completed drawings. Share the town, property status, anticipated scope, investment goal, and timing. These details help establish what needs to be understood before construction.

02

Coordinate design and construction.

Russ works with clients, architects, and designers on early budgeting, constructability, material selections, and scheduling. Site access, exposure, drainage, and lead times belong in those conversations. Changes to the design or selections should be discussed alongside their effects on scope, cost, and timing.

03

Carry the architecture into the rooms.

Our own millwork shop makes cabinetry, built-ins, trim, and architectural woodwork for the home. The portfolio shows how fitted details connect the larger design with the rooms used every day, from coffered ceilings to window seats and fireplace shelving.
