Building in Scarborough

Custom homes and remodels in Scarborough.

Scarborough is central to our Southern Maine work, from Pine Point and Higgins Beach to wooded and inland properties. Russ Doucette builds custom homes and undertakes substantial remodels, with architectural millwork made in our own shop.

Coastal and waterfront homes are a specialty. Our Scarborough portfolio includes a Colonial estate with a pool and barn in the Prouts Neck / Black Point area, showing the different settings and architectural styles within the town.

Pine Point Beach residence in Scarborough, Maine, with red-framed glass walls and a wide coastal deck

01

Homes with distinct settings and character.

The Pine Point Beach residence uses red framing, expansive glass, and broad decks to connect its rooms to the shoreline. A Higgins Beach cottage and the estate with a pool and barn in the Prouts Neck / Black Point area offer other examples. Follow the project links to see the actual homes and their finished details.

02

Plan around the actual property.

For a coastal site, bring available survey and design information and discuss exposure, drainage, access, and material choices early. The design team and appropriate local professionals should establish which property-specific approvals and constraints apply. For an inland home, site conditions and the existing landscape still shape the work.

Make the first conversation useful.

Tell us the neighborhood or property, whether you own it, and whether you are considering a new home or a substantial remodel. Include your design stage, anticipated timing, and investment goal if known. If an architect or designer is already involved, include that information too.
